Programming the battery tells the car's computer that a new battery has been installed so it can reset its charging parameters. The process generally involves:

    Updating the Serial Number: Entering a new 10-digit serial number (you can invent a new one or slightly alter the old one, as long as the system registers it as a "new" battery).

    Inputting Capacity & Type: Specifying the battery's capacity in Amp-hours (Ah) and the technology used (e.g., AGM vs. Standard Lead-Acid).
